About Us

I wanted to take a moment to talk about our name change and what it means going forward. When I started selling musical instruments, some 24 years ago, I was just a guy with an eBay account. I liked the song 'Quinn The Eskimo' by Bob Dylan, and thought it was a pretty catchy eBay name. Miraculously, it was available when I picked it. Well, I enjoyed some measure of success, and with success this little hobby of mine grew into an actual business. Where I used to just be a guy in his living room selling trombones, we have become a company with a warehouse and 14 employees who are proud to serve the entire music community.

As our footprint has grown, so have our responsibilities to our customers. We have recently become aware of the problematic nature of the word Eskimo. While this word is considered a term of identity by some people, there are other peoples of the world who find it deeply offensive. It has never been our intent to cause offense to anyone, and our view is that music is for everyone. As such, we want our name to reflect and represent the inclusiveness we feel to everyone in the world. Even though we "just liked the song," we have decided to change our name to reflect the evolving standards of the time.

So, meet The Mighty Quinn! Our Quinn is an octopus, which reflects our attachment to the Pacific Northwest, and his arms are full of musical instruments ready to be shipped all over the world to bring the joy of music to everyone.

We buy things from a wide variety of places! Some come direct from the manufacturer. We also buy from school band programs, purchase directly from individuals, instrument auctions, and online listings.

We will issue your refund promptly upon receipt!

Please pack loose articles separately and securely in bubble wrap so that they cannot bang around and hit the instrument.

If you are shipping inside a case, keep in mind that if the instrument can move around at all, it may become damaged. However, don’t wrap so tightly that the instrument is compressed. A snug fit that impairs movement will be fine! Check all latches to ensure they will not accidentally pop open during shipping.

If you are shipping an instrument without a case, wrap it at least three times with bubble wrap, and secure the wrap with shipping tape. There should not be any edges sticking out. The instrument should be completely covered.

Select a strong and sturdy double corrugated box that offers at least 2 inches of space all around the item that you want to ship. Fill that extra space around the instrument with bubble wrap, crushed packing paper, or packing peanuts.
